HOW, WHEN, WHERE?
WONDERFUL TEAK.
j Teak is the name of a tree which | grows in the East Indies. It grows jto a very great height, and some of | the largest trees are eight feet in diameter. It bears clusters of small white flowers. This wood, which is very hard, was in the old days used | very extensively in ship-building, and, indeed, still is. It is greatly prized because if it is properly seasoned it will not crack, split or warp, and also does not corrode iron. It is almost as heavy as oak. Beams of teak which must have been over lOOfl years old, have been found in good preservation.
