YIELD INCREASES.

AUCKLAND DAIRY HERDS. DECEMBER TEST AVERAGES. The December figures for flic Auckland Herd Improvement Association show that the average production from tlie 50,847 cows under test was 70911) milk, 4.00 tost and 30.111) fat. For December. 103S, the 85,137 tested gave an average of 7211b milk, 4.50 test and 33.11b fat, while for December. 1037. the 100,030 cows averaged 7701b 1 milk, 4.03 test and 30.01b fat. The best individual producer was a cow in the Whatawhata district, which gave 1141b of fat in the month, while the best herd average was 571b of fat from a herd of 34 cows 'in the Clcvcdon district. Perhaps a better return was the j)slb fat from 01 cows in the Waerenga district, or 551b fat from 41 cows in the Kawhia district. Tc Awnmutu and district groups compared very well with the association averages, as will be seen from the following:— Tc Awamutu group's SSO cows averaged 7701b milk, 4.81 test and 371b fat. The best herd, 03 cows, averaged 431b fat, and the best cow gave 741b fat. The 1722 cows in the Te Kawa group averaged 73511) milk, 4.95 test ;ind 371b fat. The best herd average was 441b fat, a figure equalled by two herds. The best cow gave 841b fat. Faterangi group's 702 cows averaged 7201b milk, 4.80 test and 351b fat. The best herd, 34 cows, averaged 411b fat, and the best cow produced 751b fat. Otorohauga group, with 3770 cows (still the largest group in the association) averaged 7501b milk. 4.04 lest and 351b fat. The best herd average was 421b fat, equalled by two herds, and the best cow gave 801b fat. The 2020 cows in the Kihikihi group aver-, aged 73511) milk, 4.SG test and 301b fat. The best herd average was 4G!b fat from 44 cows, and the best cow gave S4lb fat. JTairiui group's 1030 cows averaged 7201b milk. 4.0G test and 381b fat. The best herd, S4 cows, averaged 441b fat, and the best cow gave 931b fat. The 811 cows in the Kaipaki group averaged 7321b milk, 4.78 test and 351b fat. The best herd average was 481b fat from 41 ] cows, and the best individual produced 771b fat. Over the range, the Kawhia group, with 765 cows, averaged S2llb milk, 4.5S test and 3Slb fat. The best herd, 51 cows, averaged 551b fat, and the best cow gave 901b fat.
