BATHING SHEDS.
FOR OKAHU BAY, ORAKEI. PROMISE TO BE KEPT. The Auckland Harbour Board is to make an early start with the erection of bathing sheds at Okahu Bay, Orakei, following a meeting yesterday between the Minister of Marine, the Hon. P. Fraser, and representatives of the board and the Orakei Residents' Association. The Minister visited Okahu Bay with Mr. W. B. Darlow. chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr. 1). Ilolderness, superintendent and engineer, and representatives of the Orakei ratepayers. Mr. Fraser said last evening that a discussion took place concerning the provision of bathing slieds and other amenities. The board had not erected the «heds earlier because the foreshore had not been gazetted a domain. Tie asked the board to proceed immediately with the erection «.f the sheds and said that the vesting of the foreshore in the boai\i \vj#ld be gazetted forthwith. Mr. Dili-low explained that plans ha<; not yet been prepared or estimates mailt of the cost of the work. Having tin Minister's assurance that the foreshore would be vested in the board, plan? would be immediately prepared. "\Y< undertook to erect the sheds," he said "and we will do it."
