ALLEGED SHOOTING.
Asked in the House of Commons today whether, in view of the danger to local fishermen resulting from the practice of sinking unexploded mines by rifle fire, other measures could be taken, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty. Mr. <;. H. Shakespeare, replied: "Special ships are being fitted out for blowing up floating minis and these ships will work in areas whenmost of the floating mines are to he found. ft is essential that pair..] ,-reit should continue to sink floating rainoby rifle fire, as a mine mi the surfa. ■>■ is a menace to shipping."

A second charge of having shot with intent to murder was preferred e<»ain-t Lawlor in the St. Kilda Court on Dm-iii ber 22. ]*<l year. On December 0. Lawlor had been charged in connection with a man named George Kelly. The second charge referred to Leslie Lawlor was remanded on both char-'e-. Operations were performed on Giles end Kelly. The former was reported to he very ill. but the latter was making g.«..l progress. Lawlor is the man who ?ir.-.l a shot outside the !>uchi>» of Keiif* home in London.
