FALL IN PROFIT LAST YEAR. Net earnings of the Wellington Gas Company, Limited, for 1939, were £1046 lower at £26,179. Besides the fixed preference dividend a final dividend of 4 per cent ie recommended on ordinary shares, making 8 per cent for the year, unchanged.
