N.S.W. BEATS THE HOLDER. KEEN STRUGGLE FOR TROPHY. SYDNEY, January IS. Tn the Sheffield Slitrld cricket match South Australia in its second innings made IS3 (Bradman 40: O'Keilly four wickets for 02 runs. Pepper five for 40). New South Wales won by 237 runs. The points now are: South Australia (holder) IS. N.S.W. ]5, Victoria 11, (Queensland r>. On the northern tour the South Australians lost consecutive games to -Queensland and N.S.W., the latter of whom lias still to meet Victoria nf Sydney. Victor) , (five points) there would give N.S.W. the championship, and even three points for n first innings win would bring N.S.W. level with South Australia, which State has played all its games. As Victoria has also to meet Queensland the former Is still in the running, and would take the shield If victorious over Queensland (at Brisbane) mid able to beat N.S.W. on even the first innings at Sydney.
