NO MORE EVIDENCE HEARD. COMMITTEE TO REPORT. There was no further evidence offered when the committee set up by the Board of Health to consider a proposal by the Auckland" City Council to borrow £225,000, for improvements to the city water supply, resumed sitting this morning. The chairman of the committee, the Hon. J. Alexander. M.L.C., said that the committee had spent a great number of hours going into the evidence given yesterday, and also the reports and documents put in, and had received sufficient information to enable them to come to a conclusion. The matter would now stand over, and a report would be sent in to the Board of Health. Mr. Alexander expressed appreciation of the courtesies extended to the committee by the city authorities, and for the helpful efforts of Mr. J. A. C. Allum and the city officials. He also thanked the members of the staff, who had worked long hours to prepare a transcript of the evidence, so that the committee could go into the matter last evening. The city solicitor, Mr. J. The committee will sit at the One, Tree Hill Borough Council Chamber tomorrow morning, to consider a proposal by the borough council to borrow between £7000 and £8000, for duplication of the main from the pumping station to the reservoir on One Tree Hill.
