GOOD DEMAND FOR LAMBS. (By Telegraph.—Presa Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. The heaviest store sheep entry of the season came forward at the Addington sale, iibout 6000 of the section being store lambs. The groat stimulus given to fattening feed by the recent rains was reflected in the keen sale for rape lambs, which made up to 21/ for three-quarter bred wethers, with numerous pens from 10/6 to 17/9. Better lambs were 2/6 a head dearer than a week »go. Well-grown ewe lambs in forward condition sold from 10/ to 10/0. Fat lambs comprised an entry of 2000 odd, and full schedule rated were paid to a fraction more. Butchers had to pay B%d per lb to supply their needs. In the fat sheep section 5000 odd were penned. Best wethers sold at up to last week's good rates, but heavy ewes and light to medium were easier by up to 2/6. Prime mediumweight ewes showed very little change, and exporters were in the market for light sorts. Good wethers made from 27/ to 31/; tops, to 34/; medium, 23/ to 26/; good ewe*. 21/ to 24/; tops, to 27/6; medium, 17/ to 20/; ordinary, 14/6 to 16/; light, down to 11/'. In fat cattle 441 were j penned, a few Rood steers being included. For these there was a firm sale at last week's rates. Medium classes of steers and cows, which represented most of the entry, wero 10/ a head cheaper. Good steers mnrle from £16 to £18; tops, to £22; medium weight prime, £13 to £16; 1 itrlit, down to £10; good heifers, £10 to £12; tops, to £13; light, £7 to £8. Porkers were slightly cheaper, ranging in price from 37/6 to 52/6; average price per lb, 6Vid to 7d: baeoners, 57/6 to £4 8/6; average price per lb, 6%d to 6%d.
