Post-section play in the rinks champion ship of the New Zealand bowling tourna nwnt began this morning on live greens.

Forty-three rinks are competing. The programme to-day provides for three rounds of 21 heads, with a time limit of three hours.

The weather again was perfect, and the greens are running nicely. Livingstone (Oiieliunjtu) always had a couMnanding lead against iktdey (.-New Brighton), although three on tlie eighteenth head and lour on the last head put the loser only three poiirte behind. yinnn (Canterbury), uiaintiuned Ins un■bcaten record in tlie rinks when lie detetited Manning (Timaru) .by a margin ot, three points. Auckland) and Maelin (Hawera) provided an interesting game at the Wellington gioen. The tt-aine were-on equal terms at the twelfth head, on which JUaslin ecored four, but Breinner then had a sequence—seoring nine on the next six head.*—and he was eiglit up on th« boiinl. with three head* to go. The Hawera rink notched five on the laet head to finish two points behind. Many believe that Bremner'ji rink will reaHi the final. Without detracting from the fine performance of the winners it must i>o mentioned that the Chri«tchurch link was right off form. Noted Skips Beaten. Silbery (Petone) suffered his first defeat in the rinke when he wemt down to Nay lor (Hetaitai). a jnevious holder of the title. Both rinks had tine performances to their credit, but on to-day s play Naylor's rink definitely was the better and won by a margin of seven point*.
