According to the Shanghai correspondent of the United Press, Wang Chingwei, head of the Chinese puppet Government, has telegraphed the Chinese Generalissimo, Chiang Kai-shek, offering to visit Chungking to negotiate peace on Japanese terms, and threatening, if refused, to negotiate for peace with a section of China, leaving the Japanese to subdue Chiang Kai-shek in the hinterland.
