Joan Bennett's first husband, John Sox, attempted to commit suicide by an overdose of sleeping tablets, tell«g the police he was distracted by lie star's marriage to Walter v anger, the producer, last week, and uie thought that his daughter Diana, would be reared by a stranger. He said he would rather die than live without any hope of remarrying Joan. Fox has remarried and been divorced since he divorced Joan. He was found i" a critical condition in cheap lodgings.
