RECRUITING.

(To the Editorj) Ou all sides we hear an appe*] f w recruits. Wβ get it over the air, fc. pot*t and poster, in our daily papery fc, special recruiting vans, etc., but is tij appeal genuine ? I, as a returned solftjf holding commissioned rank, have tried again *nd again to make my eemfa, available. I volunteered for eervioe ,t liome or abroad aud was medically examined and passed as lit for Kr*i» subject to slight dental I had attended to and on predentin* myself again was told by an least 10 years older than I that I « a too old, and to "forget it." Too old tt 45, wit>h over 25 years of military service to my credit! lam ready and eager to do my share and my job is not otto of national importance. If I*m too old for overseas service, -what of hone service? What of the numbers of abkbodied youngsters in the various dlfenoe offices and those holding positions on coast defence and guard posts who could well be employed with the special force? Let us older ones fill those jobs and so release the young chaps. There would then be no need for the appeal for officers for the 3rd echelon •which appeared a day or two ago.

WILLIXG BUT DISGUSTED.
