NEW HIGH SCHOOL.

Matters relating to ■ the new High School which is in course of erection at Wellsford were discussed with the i Minister of Education, the Hon. P. ,' Fraser, by Mr. R. H. Culpan, chairman . of the school committee, Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P., Mr. J. E. Elliott, representing the Education Board, and Mr. W. J. Dunlop, secretary of the board, this morning. The .party later called at Kajwaka, where a deputation of settlers requested replacement of the school building which, it was stated, -was unsuited to the growing needs of the district. This afternoon the Minister attended the opening function of the Waipu Consolidated School, which replaces the "Mata, Waipu, North" and Upper Waipu Cove Schools. The new school will be available in February.
