PLUNKET BUILDING.
CENTENNIAL MEMORIAL. The Centennial memorial for New Brighton, for which tenders have now l>een called, will take the form of a new building for the Plunket Society. The. building, for which the architect was Mr. Paul Pa*eo«", will l>e situated at the cornel- of Union Stret and (<>l- - Street, set well hack from the road. It will l>e of the latent design, built of tapestry brick. Jt will have an up-to-date waiting room, a nursee' room, and a committee room, with folding doom making a large room that will
occupy the whole length of the building. The entrance -will be approached by a ramp instead of by steps. The total floor space will be about 900 square feet. The total amount raised for the build-
ing was about £1500, from a grant of £300 from the borough council, public subscription and Government subsidy.
