A large, number of State bouses in the North are now occupied. 1 u \yhangarei •>;{ houses are occupied and nine are being built. At I)arga\ille 24 houses are occupied and nine arc being built. At Ivawakawa five houses have bean let and at Kaikolie six have been occupied. Four liouees have been finished at Kaitaia aud others are to be built.
