MATCH WITH AUCKLAIW). TARANAKI CRICKET TEAM. McOOY ALSO IN HOME ELEVEN. The Taranaki representative cricket eleven to meet the strong Auckland eleven, which includes several Auckland Plunket Shield players, was announced during the week-end by the Taranaki selectors, Messrs. T. Muir, Hawera, and W. E. Alexander, New Plymouth. The match is to be played at Pukekura Park on Monday (the Taranaki province's Anniversary Day) and Tuesday next. Cricket enthusiasts will be pleased, states the "Taranaki Daily News," that the selectors have included in the teanf M. P. Donnelly, the brilliant ex-High School and Taranaki player, who while yet a High School boy was selected to tour England with the New Zealand team. Since attending the Canterbury University he has played for that province's Plunket Shield side and this season is second top in the Dominion batting averages for all Plunket Shield matches. He should compensate for the absence of Stan Betts, who has enlisted. •T. L: Meuli (Okaiawa) and T. C. Larkin (Western Park) were not available, while M. Pool (New Plymouth Old Boys) has been selected as twelfth man. They have been reiplaced by D. Skipper (Okaiawa), W. Barker (Hawera Old Boys) and O. M. Nasmith (New Plymouth), all of whom have shown form that warrants their inclusion. Nasmith in particular has been batting right up to h.is previous beet form, and his inclusion will be welcomed, as he has the big match temperament. A. W.
