MAGNOLIA SATIN GOWN.

At Good Shepherd Church, Balmoral, on Saturday afternoon the wedding took place of Miss Joan Barrett, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Barrett, of Sandringham, and Mr. Mervyn Samuel Collins, son of Mr. and the late Mrs. Collins, of Avondale. The wedding was solemnised by the Rev. Father Von Rotter. Mrs. McKinstry presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by Jier father, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia satin cut on classical lines. The bodice was shirred to a wasp waistline and the skirt fell in graceful folds from a bustle effect. She wore a Brussels veil mounted on a second train of tulle and earned a sheaf of white gladioli. The Miss Betty Kerr and Miss Ixia Norgrove, and the flower girls, Valerie.Barrett (Palmerston North) and ■Nola Shorter, wore pale cyclamen chiffon °vg£ tafleta, with high necklines and shirred bustles. They wore cyclamen tulle veils finished with a large topknot of French flowers. Shower bouquets of cyclamen and sweet peas were carried. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Mervyn J. Barrett (Palmerston North) as best man, and Mr. Pat Barrett as groomsman. Messrs. Hilton Barrett and Plnl McGrath were ushers at the church. The reception was held at the Carlton Hall, Sandringham. The bride's mother, Mrs. J. Barrett, received her guests wearing a navy blue cloche ensemble, with hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of red rosebuds. She was assisted by her daughter, Mrs. P. McGrath, who wore a model frock of black organza, with black picture hat. Mrs. Shorter (sister of the bridegroom) was wearing an attractive frock of black cloche, with hat to match, and carried a posy of puik rosebuds.
