SHIPS BOMBED. Few Casualties Despite . Heavy Attacks. TRAWLER CREW'S ORDEAL. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Keceived 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 12. Nazi 'planes bombed and sank the British steamer Keynes (1700 tons) in the North Sea yesterday. The crow was landed. Only the wireless operator was injured, although the 'planes attacked twice, one securing five direct hits. Two Genu mi 'planes bombed and gunned , the British steamer Pitwinea (952 tons)..off the Yorkshire coast. The crew took to the boat. The captain later reported that fire aboard 4iad been quelled, and asked the aid of a tug, which took the Pitwines in tow. All of the c'tfew are safe despite tho 50 bombs that were dropped. A German bomber sank the trawler Croxton yesterday. Nine o£ the crew drifted in an open boat for 24 hours, before they landed on the east coast. A motor boat from a Trinity House relief ship attending Eddvstoiie lighthouse capsized. Six were drowned.
