TROUT THREATENED.
STREAMS DRYING UP.
URGENT ACTION NEEDED.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
CARTERTON, tMs day.
The rapid drying up of streams in the Carterton district threatens -with destruction many thousands of brown trout fingerlings -which have crowded in the small pools left by the receding water. Already the larger fish are showing the effects of the stagnation, although the smaller are still active.
With a continuation of the present cloudy weather the fish may survive for several days, but should bright sunshine prevail they are doomed unless lirgent action is taken.
