CHARM.

YOU CAN CULTIVATE IT.

You may not be beautiful or even pretty, but you can be charming. It costs you nothing to cultivate charm, and your trouble will be well repaid. The secret of charm ie to treat people as you would like them to treat you, and don't be put off if they eeem rude or off-hand. So often people are only like that because they are &hy or nervous, and if you are nice to them they become quite different after a time. You can't have charm unless you have poke and elegance. Elegance is particularly important now- that fashions seem to be becoming more and more feminine. Annoying mannerisms, ugly habits must be cured, for they spoil your personality as much as your appearance. A good many women fine smoking a muchneeded relief in the rush of modern life, but even if you do smoke a good deal don't let it become a habit which spoils yoi*r charm. Untidy clothes and a shabby appearance also mar a charming person. Don't let your handbag bulge, see that your shoes are clean and that ybur hands and hair are well groomed.
