Aβ goon as war broke out the King gave orrlcrs that everything possible must be done to increase food production at Windsor and Sandringham.
A considerable area of unused land on the royal estates has already been brought under the plough. Herds of rtitt.li> have been increased. And both the produce and the meat will be sent to local markets, eo that the nation will obtain the full benefit of the increased effort «on the Royal farms. Xnr has the King been content merely to gtve orders; he has been at pains to see that they are being carried out. He has already made a thorough inspection of work at Wind*<>i'. taking a close interest in what new crorm are being sown and what the additional yield i» expected to be.
Another 140 acres nre being brought under cultivation at the Norfolk farm and the Home Farm at Windsor.
