NEW METROPOLE.
Merriment was the keynote of Saturday night's entertainment at the New Mctroi>ole Cabaret in accordance with the festive season, and flags and symbols around the ballroom proclaimed a happy significance. Sammy T-.ee and his Americanadians rose to the occasion with bright and lively music of the latest swing order, and the numerous dancers reacted to the vim of the players. New hits from overseas were presented on original lines, vocalists and trumpeters supplying novel touches that evoked hearty applause. Syncopated versions of old-time airs demonstrated the adaptability of the orchestra to the popular appeal, and colourful show numbers contributed to the holiday jollity of the programme. The air-cooled conditions in the cabaret were much appreciated.
