MOTORISTS TAKE CARE
I Ai this time of the year when Christmas messages are the vogue, as practical a one as any might be addressed to motorists: Drive oarefally this year on your holidays. Remember tbat those few more miles an hour are, in the majority of cases, really not worth while or necessary. Last year over the holiday season there were 13 deaths due to road accidents. Perhaps a little more caution on the bend that looked so easy might have avoided even one fatality. The samg word of caution applies to those who will go swimming, because many drownings are simply due to want of proper caution. It is true, however, that the number of fatal accidents is decreasing, jind, in this regard, as far as the highways are concerned, the thanks of the entire community are due to the tireless work of the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple, and his officers. Nor should be forgotten the fine work on the beaches of the surf life-saving clubs.
