TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE.

LIGHT CATTLE FIRMER.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their Te Awainutu sale on 1 hursday when there was a small yarding of both sheep and cattle. Prices for prime lightweight beef were a little firmer than at recent sales, other cattle making about late rates. Lightweight prime bullocks, on account Mr. A. J. McGovern, sold after keen competition at £10 15/. Heavy bullocks from Mr. L. R. Kay made £11 10/, while nice quality heifers on account Tokanui Mental Hospital sold at £8 5/ to £9 1/. We quote as follows:—Prime fat bullocks (heavy), £11 10/; lighter fat bullocks, £10 to £10 15/fat heifers, £8 2/6 to £9 1/; fat COWS, £7 to £8 4/; fat Jersey cows, £5 5/ to £6 7/6; heavy boners, £3 7/6 to £4 1/; medium, £2 15/ to £3 2/6; lighter, 25/ to 35/. Sheep.—Fat wethers, 21/ to 24/3; fat lambs, 19/ to 22/; fat ewes, 13/6 to 15/6. Tigs.—A small yarding of all classes of pigs came forward and prices for both fat an' l store pigs were on a par with late rates. We quote:—Medium baconers, £3 12/ to £3 15/; . light, £3 5/ to £3 10/; medium porkers, £2 9/ to £2 15/; light,! £2 2/ to £2 7/; medium store pigs, £1 14/ to £1 17/; good srtips, 30/ to 32/6; good weanens, 23/ to 26/; others, 20/ to 22/6. j
