Season's Greetings To All Ex-Servicemen And Women

Again as the Yuletide season arrives 'The Page" takes pleasure in extending to all ex-servicewomen and ex-servicemen and its many other readers the old, old wish j A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR. All must fervently wish that this greeting could have been given in the real spirit of Christmas—peace on earth, goodwill among men—but J jet another Christmas finds nations at war, with all the attendant human wastage, suffering and sorrow. Young New Zealanders are again on the eve of setting out on a great adventure, and ere long will, it is believed, be standing shoulder to shoulder with men from the Old Land and from other portions of the British Commonwealth of Nations, to uphold and perpetuate the glorio-is traditions that have their foundation on the slopes of Callipoli, on the fields of France and Flanders, as Well as. on the deserts of the Holy Land and Mespol. We who trod that road so long ago and thought we had done something that would ensure that the generations of the future Would be saved the h&dships and tribulations that We endured, will follow with true understanding the deeds of the new N.Z.E.F. They will leave taking with them our utmost confidence in their fighting qualities to worthily uphold the reputation of the New Zealand Forces. In the recent audacious attack on the Graf Spee and in the doings of young New Zealanders with the R.A.F. We have first-hand evidence that our young men of to-day are not lacking in cool courage and resource. We wish them all the best of luck cmd a safe return.
