WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
Ellerslie.—The December meeting took the form of a children's Christmas party, complete with a tree and Santa Claus. Items and songs were given by the children themselves.
Matamata.—The December meeting of the Matamata Women's Institute was held in the fire station, Mrs. Stuart presiding. An intelligence test was won by Mr». Schofiekl. Mrs. Browney gave two songs. Hostesses for the afternoon were Nurse Perry, Mesdames Clark and Stone and Miss Greville.
