AUCKLAND CONTRACTOR.

Asked to clarify the position regarding the proposal to build new premises to accommodate the Auckland commercial broadcasting station, IZB, Mr. N. Cole, who had been previously named as the successful tenderer, said to-day that he had nothing to say. Mr. Cole is an Auckland contractor.

It was pointed out to Mr. Cole that there was an apparent contradiction in two statements made regarding the project by the acting-Minister of Broadcasting, the Hon F. Jones. When the matter was referred to Mr. .Tones he made a statement that no decision had been made. In a later message published' to-day, however, he is reported as givinc reasons for the Government's decision to erect the new premises.
