INFLUENZA CASES.

OVER 60 SOLDIERS ILL.

PATIENTS FROM HOPUHOPU. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. Over CO soldiers from the military camp at Hopukopu are patients in the Waikato Hospital, suffering from a mild form of influenza. Twenty-seven men were taken to hospital to-day, and accommodation in the wards is severely taxed. It was stated at the week-end that the outbreak had been checked and the large number of fresh cases to-day came as a surprise.

The trouble is said to be the outcome of the men having to sleep in wet tents, but it is hoped that, with the transfer of the troops to the camp at l'apakura, and an anticipated improvement in the weather, the health of the men will be better.

For the past six weeks there have been a good many cases of influenza, but toward the end of last week the number noticeably diminished. However, on Saturday. Sunday and to-day further cases developed.
