NAZI ATTACK IN NEW SECTOR. United Press Association. —Copyright. (RccoJred 12 noon.) LONDON, September 15. The Associated Press? of Great Britain's correspondent in Paris says it is unofficially stated that the Germans are retreating slowly from advance positions in the Moselle Valley and all along tho northern flank of the Western Front.
It is stated in Brussels that the French troops launched an offensive near Perl, in the Moselle district, on the extreme west of the Franco-German frontier, and occupied the German villages of Apach and Maimuhlcn. Watchers from Luxembourg saw French tanks move into action. Kiglit were clearly seen advancing towards the German lines and compelling the Germans to withdraw.
The Germans blew up a bridge connecting Perl and Schengen, says a Luxembourg dispatch. Observers in Southern Limbourg said that Germans were evacuating areas in proximity to the Belgian border.
Action is reported on a new sector of the Western Front, states a. report from Basle, Switzerland. The development involves Mundat Forest, north of Wiasembourg, east of the Saar Basin, wher* French patrols engaged a large • Icrman force in open fighting. Finding t hrmnelves under shell fire from both side*. the French were compelled to withdraw.
