A QUESTION FOR FOOD HOARDERS
Many of your readers have expressed their appreciation of and endorse "SaddenedV' letter appearing in your issue of Monday, the 11th inst. Although this may not 'be the time to raise controversy. I do feel that hoarding of any kind is a blot, on New Zealand's good name, and must 'be stopped at all costs: surely we all despise selfishness in any shape or form which is the essence of hypocrisy, and if we ■wish to continue to call New Zealand "God's Own Country ' we imiit first and foremost banish hypocrisy, which apparently abounds, and not brag about being smart -when one has taken mean advantage of the other fellow who plays the game. The callousness of som** people is appalling even at these critical times: all they think about is their own hide-?, and think it clever or smart to belittle those who are trying silently to do their bit. We must, perhaps expect to have pro-Hitlers in the camp, but thank goodness they are few and far between in this loval and farthest outpost of Empire. ' IMPERIALIST.
