FURTHER ESTIMATES.
AGGREGATE OF £815,000. AUCKLAND DISTRICT VOTES. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Supplementary Estimates presented in the House of Representatives yesterday total £814,909. They contain no additional defence votes. The Labour Department estimates include £200 as the cost of the investigation of the freezing workers' dispute, in addition to the £2750 already voted. Maori participation in the Centennial Exhibition is covered by a vote of £5000. _ Public Works votes include an additional £15,000 for radio facilities for aerodromes and air routes.
A sum of £950 is voted for thfc expenses of Dr. A. J. Smith, of the British Food Investigation Board, who has been invited to visit New Zealand to advise on the extension of the refrigerated spacc required in a national emergency. In the main highways account there is an additional £250,000 for road construction and improvement. Railways require an additional £05,000 for wage increases.
Post and Telegraph Department votes include £18.000 for coastal radio facilities, £7000 for radio development wdrks and £15,000 for equipment for aeradio services.
Among the votes affecting the Auckland district. i« an additional sum of £4.">.000 for the Taneatua-Opotiki railway, £2800 for police offices and residence at Takapuna and £1300 for the Mount Boskill police station residence. For the Post and Telegraph Department there is an amount of £20,000 for buildings and site at Newmarket and £450 for an office at Brown's Bay.
An extra £9000 is shown under the development of tourist resort* for a pipe-line and reservoir at Rotorua.
