Menjou was prompted to compile the list after a particularly hectic morning during the filming of "Golden Boy, under direction of Reuben Mamoulian. According to hi 3 own computation he had received 11 different queries about masculine attire. The seven gentlemen considered by Menjou to be the criterions of taste in dress were the Duke of Windsor, Lucius Heebe, Grover Whalen, Fred Perry, Alfred G wvnne Vanderbilt, Anthony Kden and the Aga Khan. "Kvery man has his own taste m Aess, and his own conception of clothing," said Menjou. "What might appear appropriate to an athlete would not meet with the approval of a. statesman.
