WILL HISTORY REPEAT ITSELF? With the war in progress less than a month we find that the whole of the British Commonwealth of Nations, with the exception of Kire, has come to the support of the Mother Country, France and Poland in their war against Germany. I do not doubt that Kire will also declare war against Germany. Jn the last war Germany thought that Ireland and India would not help Britain, indeed, hinder her. She was gravely mistaken, lioth Ireland and India gave magnificent aid. At present the .situation is that Great Britain and Northern Ireland, France, Poland, India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Union of South Africa and the British colonies are at war with Germany. Iraq, a British protegee, has severed "diplomatic relations" with Germany, an action which is hut one step from war. It is interesting to note that during the war of 1914-1918 no less than 28 countries had actually declared war oil Germany and her allies, though only 18 actually participated in the lighting.
