MR. SAMUEL CARTER.
The death of Mr. Samuel Carter, at Manurewa, removes an old resident ofr the Mercer district. Until his. retirement several years ago, Mr. Carter conducted a general store and blacksmith's shop at Mercer, where he resided for 40 years. His father and mother were among the earliest residents of Bombay. Before going to Mercer Mr. Carter spent some years at Whangamarino. He is survived by two sons, MeArs. W. Carter (Patumahoe) and P. Carter (Mamaku), and three daughters, Mrs. Roy Glass (Mercer), Mrs. H. Burton (Onehunga) and Mrs. H. Duncan (Manurewa),
