PURPOSE OF NEW BILL. (By Telegraph—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLIKGTOX. Friday. "The. State is very interested, in proserving the home and in seeing that- i; is not broken up without everyreasonable effort being made to salvage it." said the Attorney-General, the Hon. K. G. R. Mason, in moving the committal of the Domestic Proceeding Bill in the House to-day. Members expressed approval of the bill, which ]>ut through all stages and passed.
Ihe bill, said Mr. Mason, dealt with separation procedure in the Magistrate s Court. The purpose was to effect reconciliation of the parties rather than have them go on with separation proceedings.
' A similar measure in England lias met with fair success," Mr. Mason added.
