FIRM DEMAND AT FEILDING

RISE IN MUTTON AND BEEF. FAT SHEEP UP 2/ A HEAD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FEILDING, Friday. \ alues were very linn in all sections of the Feilding sale to-day with u rise taking place in the case of mutton and beef. The following are the values: — Fat Sheep.—For mutton competition w,k very keen and an advance of about 2/ per head oil last week was shown. A good proportion of the ewes were shorn, and these appeared to be the cheapest sheep. Extra prime woolly ewes, 20/10 to 28/3: prime. 24/ to 25/10: average sorts, 22/ to 23, 8; lighter, 17/ to 20/; prime shorn ewes, 17/ to 19/7; extra prime wethers, 30/ to 31/0; prime, 27/ to 28/9; average sorts, 20/; lighter. 17 9 (shorn) to 25/13; prime hoggets. 21/3 to 22/8: second quality, 17,9 to 19/3; unfinished, 12, 3 to 15.'.

Store Sheep. —A splendid sale took place tor hoggets, with best sorts iu keen demand. There was a heavy penning of ewe hoggets, but all lines were sold. Attracthe ewe hoggets, 25 0 to 20/10; good. 22,0 to 24 0: small. 12,0 to 19/0; host wether, 18/0 to )!>/!); second grade, 15/ to 10 0: small. 7. ; average quality b.f.. 11/3 to 1.3, 9; small. 10 5 to 10/10: aged ewes. 10,2 to 12/0; culls. 0.4; small twotooth ewes. 14,'.

Store Cattle.- An exceptionally strong sale took place for store cattle considering the general shortness of feed. The stock yarded was in fair to good condition, and met keen competition throughout. Fat pigs showed a slight easing tendency, while all classes of store pigs sold particularly well.
