PIHA SURF CLUB.
DANCE FOR FUNDS.
LIFE SAVERS MEET
The Symondsville ballroom was the scene of a successful dance last evening, when the Piha Surf Life-Saving Club held a dance to augment their funds. Artistically arranged green palms, together with the autumn-tinted lighting effect, provided a lovely background for the frocks worn by the dancers. Floral materials in bright shades were the popular choice of the dancers, while the new season's drindl styles were in great evidence. Ribbon bows and flowers were the favoured head pieces, while an original note was struck with a clump of berries worn as a top-knot. Mr. A. Jack son, president, assisted by Mrs. Jackson, received and welcomed the guests. Mrs. Jackson wore a charming gown of black ring velvet, relieved with a corsage of primroses. Members of -Auckland provincial life-saving clubs were present, as well as two Australian visitors, who represented surf clubs in Sydney.
