MOTORISTS' HELP.
ASSISTING THE MILITARY.
IX EVENT OF EMERGENCY.
Matters connected with the organisation of motorists to assist the military authorities were discussed at a meeting of the council of the Automobile Association (Auckland) last evening. It was stated that in the event of an emergency the support of members would be forthcoming. With that assumption 111 view emergency measures will be formulated within the next month by a sub-com-mittee. An announcement was made by Mr. G. W. Hutchison fhat the matter had been discussed two months ago, bid apart from appealing to members fof co-operation, no definite action had been taken. If sufficient members came forward, Mr. Hutchison said, the association would be in a position to form soma type of organisation for service in tin evacuation of the city, if necessary within a reasonablv short time.
The president, " Mr. F. G. Farrer, remarked that the association "had tin nucleus of a great organisation and they should ascertain in what direction tin military authorities could be assisted. Some combined effort would undoubtedly be of service.
