TE RAPA HORSES.
A. WINDER'S TEAM. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") HAMILTON, this day. A restricted programme was observed at Te Rapa this morning when the course proper, 75it out, was very heavy and cutting out alter recent rain. Conditions were most unpleasant, a cold southwesterly wind being interspersed with rain later in the morning. Only candidates for the approaching Avondale fixture were permitted on th e course proper, and consequently there was not a great deal of activity. A. Winder's string were galloped early, Prince Acre (Hain) and Hum-a-Song (Winder) running to the five. They could not be timed, however, as they were well past the post when they jumped off. Both shaped well in the going, and look in good order for pending engagements. Susan (Winder) and Mio Lunie (Hain) were associated over a round, and as in the case of the earlier pair were well past the post before they jumped away. Timed over the final seven furlongs of their work they ran this distance in 1.43 1-5. Master Brierly (McKenzie) and British Sovereign (Gilmer) hit out over a circuit, the former finishing clear of hie companion in 2.18 4-5. Considering the adverse Conditions it was a satisfactory p'erformance on the part of Master Brierly, who sh&uld give a good account of himself at Avondale providing the going is not too heavy. Star Bright (J. Melnally), assisted over the last half mile by Foxsen (Telford), I negotiated five furlongs in 1.13%. Star j Bright is engaged in the first division of . the Trial Handicap at Avondale on , Saturday, and interest will attach to his showing. Meadow (McKenzie). Trig Station (C. L. Goulsbro) and Diversity (Ensor) were in that order at the completion of half a mile in 55 4-ss. Raceline ran three furlongs in 4'2s, going from the three furlong peg to the six. He looks well and is not without prospects at Avondale. riding engagements include: X. R. McKenzie —Te Kauiti. Master Brierly. Gold A aals. H. Long—Veritable, ; First Gold Money. Fils de V.ials.
