ANOTHER VICTORY.
FIJIANS STILL UNBEATEN,
SIX UP ON ASHBURTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) ASHBUKTOX, Wednesday. Playing in extremely unpleasant conditions, with heavy rain and a cold southerly wind, the Fijian Rugby team maintained its unbeaten record in New Zealand defeating Ashburton liy JO points to 4.' Play was ragged nt thf outset, the Fijians being unable to find their feet in the mud. Ashliurton also had difficulty in handling the ball, the passing being erratic. The visiting forwards excelled in quick, sharp rushes, while the backs combined in enterprising movements. Had the ground been dry. the visitors would most likely have given a better display. As in other matches of the tour, the forwards did not gain the ball from the scrums as much as the opposing side, but quick-breaking movements and solid defence counteracted this disadvantage. All the points were scored in the first spell, when the visitors were definitely on top. In the second spell Ashburton improved considerably, and was within an ace of scoring several times. Piny in this half was mostly in Fijian territory, but the "home team was unable to pierce the defence. Ashburton scored first when A. Kelly, first five-eighth, secured from a serum and potted n coal. Voreqe anil Bola scored tries for Fiji, and Kolovulavula dropped a field goal.
The final game of the Fijians' tour will be played on Saturday against the Maori All Blacks. Of the seven games played on the tour, the Fijians won six and drew one (Nelson-Golden Bay). Points: For Fiji, 79 ; against, 45.
