FAT STOCK PRICES.
| INCREASE CAUSES CONCERN. | ACTION BY BUTCHERS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Christchurch butchers, concerned over the high fat stock prices ruling at Addington market and prevented from increasing their rates l>v the emergency regulations, will make representations to the Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan. In a statement on Saturday the Minister said Dunedin master butchers would have to return to the rates ruling before September 1. Christchurch prices were increased on August 31, but since then there has been a further market rise. The Minister hinted that steps would be taken to control prices at stock auctions. Addington rates are at present the highest in the Dominion because of the abnormal shortage of mutton and beef, but it has been stated this can partly be overcome by a release of the surplus export mutton.
