The Ringmaster colts are from Impetuous (dam of Master Hotspur, Imposture an<[ Elanage), lhax (dam of Spiral) and Drama (dam of Millamont and Allspice). Those by Spiral are from Genestra (dam of Royal A,tub), Jewel of Asia (dam of Farmer, Sir John and Coronation) and Miss Thespian (dam of Chief Ranger, Lacan and Rehearsal). The colt by Posterity is from Anklet (dam of Pembroke, Jutland, Royal Order and Linklet, all winners in Australia). TWO-YEAR-OLD NAMED. The two-year-old filly by Porridge from Air Lassie in W. H. DwyerV stable at Wanganui has been named Sly Lasts. She is ownetl by Mr. A. Lisle, of New Plymouth. f AN IMPROVED HACK. Bight Royal continues to hit out with plenty of freedom in his track work and has never been better than he is at the present time. He is due to make hi« next appearance at the Avondale meeting, where he will contest the Swanson Handicap. Right Royal ran a fine race over that distance when he beat all but The Cardinal at the Pakuranga meeting, and he will have plenty of friends the pext time he goes to the post. BOTH DOING WELL. Miss Appellant and Tape Pan go are doing well under D. Arnott's supervision, and will be ready for the spring meeting. It is intended to give Miss Appellant a race at the Avondale meeting this month, probably on the second day. This mare won just on £500 la«t season, and she has not beep over raced a profitable season should be in store for tlie daughter of Appellant and Miss Bramble, ADDITION TO TEAM The Australian-bred mare Feldberg, by Backwood from Humorada, is the latest addition to K. Heatori's team at Ellerslie. j She has been qualified and may be given a trial as a hurdler at the spring meetings- | WELL REPRESENTEDSo far this season three-year-olds have been racing attractively and there is every I prospect that it will be a vintage year j for horses of that age. Of the twenty ! candidates remaining in the Champion 1 Plate, to be run on the first day of the Avondale meeting, twelve are three-year-olds, and they appear to hold a mortgage on the event. The list includes Silver Stick, Our Jean, Brazen Bold. Orelio, Classic, Wyndoi'a, Surmise, Koxtoon, Clipper, Dtincannon. Classform and Buccaneer —a formidably lot. FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT. One of the most improved horses in work at Kllerslie is Aero Kir».\ who has furnished into a solid type. He is getting through a sound preparation, bn. has not been asked to do any fast galloping. However, lie is well forward and will not need much fast woi k to fit him for racing. Towards the eno of last season Aero King put up several fine performances, and there is no reason why he should not reveal better form as a five-year-old during the present term.
