AMALGAMATION OPPOSED,

The Whangarei Borough Council is opposed to_ the proposal for the amalgamation of the Municipal Electricity Supply Association with the New Zealand Electric Power Boards' Association. This view was expressed at the meeting of the council last night, when redrafted proposals in this connection were received from the Municipal Supply Association. When he attends a special meeting of the association in Wellington on Friday, September 15, the Mayor. Mr. W. .Tones, will put forward the council » views.
