GOLDEN DAWN ORE.
The following report has been lesued by Golden Dawn Gold Mines, Limited. Owharoa :■—Since the last report on August 25 sinking of the winze from Xo. 3 level on Xo. 5 reef has been slowed up, owing to the installation of a pump to deal with water flow, and to necessary timberinsr. Consequently the winze was only sunk 4ft, hut. the assay values increased etill further, averaging at 34ft £20 3/7 a ton and at 3(sft. £37 2/(5. This is for the full width and length of winze, Oft by 4ft on hangingwall of reef. The full width of the reef is not known, it being wider than the winze. Good stone is showing in floor of winze. With the installation of the pump progress will now be accelerated and a better idea sooner obtained of the real extent of this rich ore chute.
