It is stated that the last of the children and mothers will be evacuated from London by 6 p.m. Between Friday and midnight on Sunday 000,000 were evacuated, and there was not a single casualty. Over 5000 patients were also transferred from London hospitals.
It is officially stated that all necessary steps, have been taken to ensure that there is no hindrance in the Suez Canal to merchant shipping. The War Office reports that regular forces and all other necessary measures to ensure the security of the colonies have been applied.
r * Anthony Eden took office to-day. Though he is not a member of the War Cabinet, he attends all Cabinet meetings in order to keep the Dominions apprised at all times.
