Grapes: Californian, white 37/6 chest, black 42 0. Vegetables. The market was heavily supplied with ealbbaires and cauliflowers, and inferior lines of caibbasies were practicably unsaleable. Carrots and parsnips arrived in much larger quantities and prices were a little lower. Swedes were still in overcsupply. selling at very low rates. Hothouse ciicumJx-rs were more plentiful and prices lower, on account of the sale of Island euclumbers. There wais a jiood supply of pumpkin*. but choice lines realised 'high prices. Celery wa>s plentiful, 'hut rhubarb scarce arid dear. There was a fairly wide variety of potatoes available at present, with good supplies of South Is-land ami Ohakune on the market. Californian potatoes, exMariposa. were oil hand, while small quantifies of new potatoes came forward from local growers.

Poultry. At to-day's auctions the supply of poultry was medium and the demand was keen. The prices paid remain the same all round. Selling rates were as follow:— • Cockerels, heavy breeds, prime, 5/ to 7/ each; not prime, 3/ to 4 : light breeds, prime, 4' to 5/; not prime, 2, 0 to 3/3; fat roosters, heavy breeds, prime, 3/ to 4/0; light breeds. 2. to 3/; fat hens, heavy breeds. 4.j to 0: light breeds. 3/ to 4'; laying hens, heavy breeds, 3/ to ."> 0; light breeds, 4/ to 0/; pullets, heavy breeds, best, 3/ to 0 : smaller. ;)/ up; light breeds, best, 3,'; smaller. Farmers' Butter.—l/ 3% to 1/5 lb. Cut Flowers. Demand for flowers was exceptionally poor and prices for all varieties were very low, particularly for Iceland poppies. It is anticipated that an improvement will take place at the end of the present week.
