THEFT OF LIQUOR.
rARM HAND'S ADMISSION. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, Monday. A box containing two dozen bottles of lieer mysteriously disappeared from a parked car in a Te Awamutu street on Saturday afternoon, and suspicion fell on George G. Green, a farm hand from Ohaupo. He admitted the theft of the liquor, which was recovered from the back of a garage, where he had hidden it under an oil drum. Justices on the Bench yielded to his entreaties not to be sent to gnol. and he was fined £7 10/. plus the cost of a prohibition order. An order was also made for the return of the liquor.
