The New Zealand croquet players, who made such an impressive showing in tournament play at the Queensland carnival last week suffered a setback yesterday, when they lost two teams' matches and won one. Resulte: —
New Zealand No. 1 142, v. New South Wales 123. Doubles: It. W. McCreath and Gambrill, 19—26; Palmer and Clark, 26—17. Singles: Clark, 26—21; R. W. McCreath, 22—26; Palmer, 26—7; Gambrill, 23—26.
South Island 105, v. South Australia 144. Doubles: Nicholson and Bryant, 24—23; J. Thompson Ad Griffin, 16—26. Singles: J Thornton, 26—17; Griffin, 15—26; Nicholson, 17 —26; Bryant, 7 —26. North Island 112, v. Queensland 138. Doubles: Henderson and Brown, 26—25; Lowery and McCreath, 13—26. Singles: Lowery, 26—9; McCreath, 19—26; Henderson, 20—26; Brown, 8—26.
