Tourney At Rotorua - Seventy-F.ve-Year-Old Player Leads The Field With Round Of Eighty-Four.
Some surprising performances were re. by elder',v golfers in the first round of the New Zealand veterans' tournament at Rotorua yesterday. Some ol them on long handicaps played matn strokes below their marks. It was leii for the T.i-year-old Rotorua player, C. The championship finals of the Ladles' Golf Club were decided The senior winner was Mrs. P. Andrew, who defeated Miss M. 6 and 4. The winner of the junior title was Mrs. M. Walker, who beat Mrs. F. Prosser, 2 up. A bogey matclr played by week-end members was won by Miss F. Barker, who returned a card of 5 down.
