HUGE BLOCKS OF ICE.
SF.VKRi: STORM IN" NORTH. (Rv Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DAROAYILLK, t hi- day. A particularly heavy rainstorm, accompanied by hail. pa--fd over the central portion of tlic district early yesterday afternoon. In the Onetea. area the hail was the heaviest in the memory of residents, one of whom states that a kerosene tin in his backyard was filled with hail in a short time.
This morning there are huge blocks of ice on the road. One resident had to remove them from the road in order to allow his car to pass through. In the paddocks there were blocks of ice as big as sheep, looking, he said, for all the world like big sheep lying on the ground. N'o damage is reported.
